Camino a la universidad la lectura no fue posible en tales circunstancias: la necesidad de atender al sujeto de mi libro, entregado de conciencia, factible en la mayoría de trayectos en los cuales los ruidos extraños se ausentan, si más no en semejantes ondas y en tan alterado tono, se convirtió en tarea inalcanzable, y por tanto me rendí a lo que acontecía. No voy a menospreciar, sin embargo, la curiosidad que asoma ante tales sucesos, y que es, cuanto menos, suficientemente vivaz como para despistar dirigiendo los ojos a la página abierta de "Rayuela", mientras las orejas restan atentas a la conversación que transcurría a mi derecha. Quizá fuera la particularidad de conocer solo la mitad del diálogo lo que aumentó mi interés por no perderme ningún detalle, consciente de que pudiera algún día como éste sacarle partido narrativo al agravio que inconscientemente esa mujer estaba cometiendo, en aquel lugar, hacía su propia persona, aunque e ella poco le importara. Porqué si hay mente cotilla, evidentemente, esta es una como la mía, tan necesitada de historias, temas e ideas con las cuales rellenar lares cibernéticos como éste. Así que no pretenderé confundir a quien me lea: estaba encantado de asistir a esa representación, que por lo menos rompía la monotonía habitual. Ya sonreía pensando en lo que iba a escribir. Saqué la libreta y apunté, como si de un periodista en una rueda de prensa se tratara, las frases más destacadas, que coincidían plenamente con aquellas que rezumaban una mayor morbosidad en si mismas. Tal es el caso que, aunque aparentemente los demás pasajeros imitaban leer el periódico, mirar por la ventana o dormir (¡qué buenos actores somos cuando no se espera que así actuemos!), todos estábamos con las antenas sintonizadas, atentos a lo que aquellas dos mujeres argüían, sedientos de mezquindades escupidas, de sumo interés propio, de banal importancia personal.
¿Qué carácter implica que airear tu vida privada ante un público tan numeroso además de silencioso, no te importe lo más mínimo? ¿Quizá fuera yo capaz de semejante acción bajo la influencia de la ira que la poseía? A mi entender, y la lástima fuere que no actuara realmente como buen periodista y no le hiciere la correspondiente entrevista, la historia no era tan singular, pero no por ello ausente de pasiones: la mujer agravadora -diremos-, acusaba a la agraviada de acostarse con el padre de ella (se entiende, la agravadora) aprovechando su ausencia. Aquí se introduce el factor clandestinidad, ya que supuestamente la hija del asaltado (sexualmente, pero consentido) también se encargaba de la tarea de vigilar al pobre padre indefenso del ataque de arpías extranjeras, y ésta aprovechó "su día de fiesta"(de la agravadora) para abalanzarse sobre la presa y mantenerlo después en el anonimato. Y afirmo extranjera en base a las notas de qué dispongo, que son, a saber: "tu lo que quieres es traerte a tus hijas...si yo te doblo la edad...vamos a ver quien tiene más fuerza...tu no sabes como soy yo...no me vengas que te conozco...yo prefiero que vuelva con la Carmen antes que contigo...quieres quedártelo todo" Sin mantener necesariamente este orden ni ser exclusivamente tal y como las reproduzco. Así que a pesar de conocer solo la mitad de lo hablado, todo está muy claro...del lado de la agravadora. Por qué pensaría, digo yo: mujer extranjera, más joven que yo, que mi padre ni digamos, se lo tira...¿Qué quiere? Conclusión fácil y llanamente plausible, sin muchos rodeos, sin pensar demasiado: sacarle dinero (y por ende quitármelo a mí). Por otra parte, explicación no necesariamente veraz, desde luego. O no menos egoísta, ¿cierto? Quizá no merece ella más dinero que la amante...quizá no hay dinero por en medio...nada, seguro que hay dinero por en medio.
En definitiva: ¿Lucha generacional? ¿Envidia? ¿Xenofobia? ¿Temor por un padre incapaz de valerse por si mismo (pero si follar)?¿Qué pensaría el padre de todo ello?¿Que querría realmente la agraviada?¿Sentiría amor por el padre? Si fuera así, ¿porqué enfrentarse a la hija, a esa hija precisamente, con el miedo que yo le tendría a una persona así? Dudas con millones de respuestas. Me las guardo para cuando pueda sacar dinero con ellas.
Otra sonrisa asoma en mí pensando en una escena mejorada: agravadora encontrándose a las 9 de la mañana a agraviada y al padre en el mismo tren, en el día de fiesta de la agravante con las hijas de la extranjera en los brazos de él! Final: agravadora cambia nombre de su personaje por el de homicida, seguro.
Moralejas: cuantas verdades pueden darse a partir de una media conversación a las 9 de la mañana en un día cualquiera en un tren abarrotado. Anota siempre aquello que se te antoje interesante, siempre podrás matar el tiempo pensando en ello algún otro día, sin el menor objeto, con todo el sentido. ¿Alguna más? Seguro.
